Sibongile's professional journey began in financial policy and supervision, including work at Fannie Mae and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She went on to hold senior risk and compliance roles at American Express and Affirm and now serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Brex. Across more than 25 years in banking and fintech, she has worked at the intersection of innovation, regulation, and institutional trust.
Her connection to the performing arts began long before her executive career. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Sibongile began performing at a young age and trained as a classical soprano. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Harvard University and pursued graduate vocal-performance training at Binghamton University. Her acting experience spans stage and screen, including independent film, musical theatre, and productions such as Allegory at La Jolla Playhouse.
Her writing for film and television reflects an interest in complex characters and themes of ambition, identity, and power. She is particularly drawn to stories that explore the relationship between public authority and private experience.
Sibongile is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and maintains a base in Los Angeles for acting.
